As a Tucson native, the desert Southwest is the only home Merissa has ever known. She managed to broaden her horizons with a plethora of jobs during high school and college that afforded her, not only the knowledge of multiple industries, but the gift of relationships with people. From law offices and entertainment parks to retail and nonprofits, Merissa naturally settled into sales and business ownership. (More on that below.)
Merissa met her husband, Michael, and they were married before they were old enough to toast with champagne at their wedding and now have two grown children. Michael was a General Contractor, designing and building custom homes in the Northwest Tucson and Catalina Foothills areas before the great fall of 2008 forced him to begin a more stable career as a firefighter/paramedic/engineer with the Santa Rita Fire District (formerly Green Valley Fire District). But, not before Merissa‘s exposure to the entire process of homebuilding from design to development and the different levels of quality in the industry.
Eventually, Merissa‘s journey culminated in business ownership when she opened up a little DIY studio called Board & Brush Creative Studio in Oro Valley. Being a successful business owner (even through the challenges of a pandemic) was a true joy, until she had to sell it 2024 due to family health issues.
In all of her professional experiences, Merissa realized that what she was most passionate about was helping people pursue dreams, accomplish goals, and achieve greatness all while being an encouraging voice in the background. This desire paired with the gift of vision and knowledge of home design and construction all seemed to say that real estate would be her next great adventure.
